Perry Van Arsdale once sent a copy of the Pioneer Arizona map to the Arizona State Prison. Several days later he received a letter from the prisons warden thanking him for the map but politely declining it on the grounds that such a detailed piece of work on such remote and forgotten areas would certainly constitute a perfect aid for escapes.
